Everything's coming up Lia

Just when I thought the hockey world couldn't look any brighter, who waltzes into Carrie Underwood's music video at the 2:25 mark?

And just because I'm already here, posting videos, here is Garbo's beauty shootout goal from last night:

  1. You can barely tell its Fisher. Also, I'm not being difficult - I honestly don't get why this is a knock on Fisher or the Senators.

  2. Did you have the volume on? Did you listen to the shmaltzy lyrics? Do you recognize that this is going to be aired on CMT? Did you see his pants?

If there was a "making of" video, it would be a play by play of Mike Fisher's castration.

  3. Just a question....is that goal illegal? The front-side spin-o-ramas we've seen, the puck is always moving forward. Here, it seems it has stopped before he then whacks it in...it wasn't one motion.

Great win..cool move..I just always have a soft spot for goalies who are put out their like sitting ducs waiting to be lampooned.

  4. That goal has been illegal since the first time it was attempted. BUT, the first time it was attempted, it was allowed, so until the league makes a declaration, it'll be a good goal. And given that entertainment is king, I doubt the league will crackdown on these anywhere in the near future.

But, when a Canuck scores with one of those goals, I cringe. I don't like them.

Full value for the win Lia, but remember your last post. Don't get too high.

  5. Oh and I agree with Steve that the appearance is a non-story.

  6. The rule with the shootout is that you can't stop. I agree that Grabovski's goal is borderline, but it actually is all one fluid motion. Either way, Powder's right (in one respect anyway) - the precedent has been set, and there's no going back now. Particularly with fans who, like me, are distracted by shiny objects.

  7. You're right Lia. Since the Devils complained about a Jason Blake spin-o-rama goal, the NHL added the following subrule

The spin-o-rama type move where the player completes a 360° turn as he approaches the goal, shall be permitted as this involves continuous motion.
